Detachment

If the senses are purified by detachment from desire and no longer crave and cling to worldly pleasures that pollute their innocent clarity, then sensuous forms can become the exponents of that which transcends the senses and so can lead to a realization of Shunyata, the Formless that is the background of all forms. If Samsara is contemplated with such perfectly tranquil detachment, it can reveal even in this life a fore-glimpse, however brief, of the bliss of Nirvana.
